There won't be an official meeting this month, since most of the regulars are going to be out of town or busy with holiday plans. The meetings will resume normally for January, with the meeting being January 19th. Anyone with any questions or ideas can email StankDawg or me. My email is rightcoast(*)gmail
Have a good holiday everyone! |

The BR407 meeting for November is ON this Friday the 17th at the normal location! My big topic this week will be my new toy, the Archos 604 wifi device that I just purchased. It is powered by linux, but it is very new and I haven't seen much information on it yet. I thought we could play around with it and see what we can come up with.
Besides that, I have a lot of other things to look at. I will be bringing some virgin(unseen) packet captures that I picked up at a hotel recently to browse through. We can also discuss the new 2600 magazine that came out last month.
Last month, I wanted to try a new expirement at the meeting. I was going to install audacity and bring a microphone with me and I would like to try and record an episode of Binary Revolution Radio right there at the meeting. I know it may be noisy, but I think it might add to the ambience and the reality of the show. It would actually be a new format of show that has never been done before. A hacker radio show recorded at a hacker meeting. If successful, it may actually start a new trend. If it fails miserably, at least you will be there to witness and enjoy the disaster. I do not know if I will be able to pull that off at the November meeting, but I think we should at least talk about it and make plans for possibly doing it at the December meeting.
Speaking of the December meeting, we probably should decide who is in town or gone for the holidays. I will be out of town that Friday, so someone else needs to take charge of the meeting that month, if there is going to be one. Let's discuss that at the November meeting as well.
We will also have our normal meeting content...

Sorry for the short notice but mambo open source is a steaming pile of dawg shit! I was already short on time due to some work travel and Mambo decided to stop working on me. I spent several hours recovering from an old backup and reconfiguring this pile of crap. I WILL BE UPGRADING TO JOOMLA as soon as I get agap in my schedule. I had been putting it off as well, due to time constraints, but the time I have spent fixing mambo would have been better spent upgrading it instead.
