BR407 started in January 2006 and you can see recaps of past meetings and information about upcoming meetings below.

You can join our IRC channel at IRC.BINREV.NET and ask questions, get directions, or anything else. We want you to be comfortable so that we can see you at our meetings, so please feel free to ask anything that you want before you come.

The AugustBR407 meeting will take place on Friday 08/21/2009 at Altamonte Mall starting around 6 PM as usual.

Icetoad and I returned from DEFCON this year with some good show and tell items that we will bring. In addition, I brought back some freebies to give away to attendees. If anyone wants to hear about the con, and get some free swag you should show up.

I actually finished up a couple of articles that I will try to bring with me if anyone is interested at a sneak peek. If anyone has other projects or topics, bring them!

I usually show up for the Friday meetings around 5:15-5:30 and sit towards the front of the food court so that I can easily be found with my laptop and BR shirt. You do not have to come that early! We have many people who are not able to make it until after work so you are welcome to stroll in anytime that you feel like it! Most people show up around 6 PM and we do not start any presentations until 6 at the earliest. You may miss a few things, but you are still welcome to show up for as long as you can. There is not set schedule or timeline and people are welcome to come and go as they please.

We will also have our normal meeting content...

Topics: August 2009

I would like to discuss some article ideas. I would love for BR407 to be more active in the writing scene for 2600, BR magazine, and anything else. Chatting is all well and good, but how about producing some content?

If anyone has some presentations, please email me and let me know so I can post that information here. People are more likely to come when they see a group of people actually participating and sharing information through presentations, projects, or other activity. That is what makes BinRev meetings different.

Our video project appears to be dead. The person who was working on our video disappeared a few months back, so this project is back on hold. We may continue on without him if anyone else is interested.

Some of you who are regulars to the greatest hacking forums that the world has ever known may already know that we have some T-shirts printed up. I sometimes have them with me at the meeting, but you should contact me in advance to bring specific sizes to be sure. They will be cheaper than ordering online! For people who buy the shirts in-person, they will be $15 cash and carry. If you order online, it will be at least $20 (each) to cover shipping and handling. Buy them at the meeting if you want one!

Please start inviting and publicizing these meetings! We will be discussing some local event ideas and I would love to have some input and support from those of you who may be local. I really need to get some other people also participating and presenting along with me. I put some flyers into the magazines at Barnes and Nobles to see if we could generate some interest. Post some flyers or announcements at your schools or just spread the dates by word of mouth to friends. We want the meeting to grow instead of just being the same people every month, so please help out as much as you can.
